Eradicating Poverty One Bead at a Time

Torkin Wakefield and daughter Devin Hibbard have teamed up to found BeadforLife, a nonprofit organization that aims to help end global poverty by hosting BeadParties worldwide. These parties feature jewelry created from recycled paper by women in Uganda.

‘During a BeadParty, our goal is not only to sell beads, but also to educate and engage people on issues of extreme poverty,’ says Hibbard. ‘Research shows that empowering women and putting money in their hands is the absolute best way to create benefit for the entire family, and even the development of the nation as a whole.’

To help their efforts, shop the online store or, better yet, host a BeadParty of your own!
